Assembled Inspection Inspection 2

New home for Cambourne Air Cadets!

The Official Opening of Cambourne Air Cadets detached flight took place on Sunday, at Cambourne Sports Pavilion. Air Cadets can now parade closer to home instead of travelling ten miles to their parent Squadron at Bassingbourn every Monday and Wednesday evenings.

The Officer Commanding Beds & Cambs Wing, Wing Commander Paul Bower attended the event which commenced with an Inspection, followed by a march past. The Wing Commander said:

“it’s a wonderful start for 2484 D/F and holds great things for the future, they have excellent accommodation, and I have received great feedback from the Cadets, especially their love of flying, which came to the forefront”.

The opening concluded with refreshments at the Sports Pavilion. The Officer in Charge of Cambourne, Pilot Officer Charles Rogers said “he would like to thank the local Councillors for their untiring support in this venture, and also the parents who provided the superb refreshments after the event”.

Cambourne DF are currently recruiting young people between the ages of 13 and 17 years old. They meet on Mondays and Wednesdays between 6.45pm and 9.45pm. For more information please call 07813 897949, or pop along to the Sports Centre on a Parade evening.
